Martin Truex Jr. secured a win in the previous race at Sonoma Raceway and currently leads the points standings. As the preliminary entry list for the NASCAR Cup Series Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway was unveiled, fans are eager to witness an exciting lineup of drivers. While many of the driver and team pairings are as expected, a few notable names stand out on the entry list.
Brennan Poole in the No. 15, JJ Yeley in the 51, and Josh Bilicki in the 78 are notable entries for the race at Nashville Superspeedway. Additionally, Richard Boswell serves as the crew chief for Chase Briscoe’s No. 14 entry. Notably, this marks only the third time the track has hosted a Cup race, adding to the event’s anticipation.
The Nashville Superspeedway, known for its 1.33-mile D-shaped oval with 14 degrees of banking in the turns, has a rich history of hosting NASCAR national series races. From 2001 to 2011, the Superspeedway witnessed 21 NASCAR Xfinity Series races and 13 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events. In 2021, the track made a meaningful return to the NASCAR Cup Series calendar with a race held on Father’s Day, marking the series’ first race in the Nashville area since 1984. Geoff Bodine emerged victorious in the 1984 race at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
As the largest concrete-only track in NASCAR, Nashville Superspeedway is owned by Dover Motorsports, Inc.,
which also owns Dover International Speedway in Delaware. In the previous two years of the Ally 400, Hendrick Motorsports emerged victorious, with Kyle Larson finishing second and first in the two stages in 2021 and Elliott securing eighth and fourth-place finishes in each stage in 2022.
Notably, Chevrolet dominated the majority of laps in both years, leading 282 of 300 laps in 2021 and 52 laps in 2022. Toyota also showcased its prowess, leading 253 of 300 laps in 2022 and ten laps in 2021. Ford, on the other hand, led a total of only 11 laps at Nashville Superspeedway.
With Kyle Larson’s exceptional performance in the 2021 edition, leading all but 36 laps, and Martin Truex Jr.’s impressive track record despite finishing 22nd in both races, fans can anticipate an intense battle between these top contenders. Truex’s recent win at Sonoma and consistent top finishes add to the excitement surrounding his presence in the race.
As anticipation builds for the NASCAR Ally 400, fans eagerly await a thrilling skill, speed, and strategy showcase at Nashville Superspeedway.
